SUMMARY:End of Life: Caring for the Human Person While Preparing the Soul
DESCRIPTION:Mass at 6:00 pm\, followed by a presentation by Dr. Sister Edith Mary Hart\, RSM\, DO: End of Life: Caring for the Human Person While Preparing the SoulDownload the PDF flyer to print: Here \nAs faithful Catholics\, we know that death will come to each of us and to those we love sooner or later.  In a world that often sees little meaning in suffering and death – as something to “get through” – we are often conflicted about questions and situations that occur at the end of life. The focus seems mainly on end-of-life documents\, ensuring wishes are communicated about care to receive. Though important\, how well does this help us face suffering and death as Christians? \nCertainly\, we want to relieve pain and discomfort to the best of our ability and cure or remedy illness that is in our power to do so. Death\, however\, awaits us all\, and naturally some suffering and diminishment over time.  How can we help ourselves and those we care for prepare for death and what duties should be considered in preparation? Can we realize a more profound understanding of the meaning of suffering? What specific temptations come to the one facing death and what virtues combat those temptations? \nDr.Sister Edith Mary will discuss all these eternal questions and offer practical advice for the end that awaits us all. \n\n  \nSister Edith Mary Hart\, RSM\, DO\, FAAFPFamily Medicine/Geriatric Medicine \nDr./Sister Edith Mary Hart\, RSM\, DO is a Religious Sister of Mercy in family medicine at Immaculate Heart of Mary Family Health Care in Chandler\, AZ. She is also the Co-Ordinator for Clergy health and wellbeing for the Diocese of Phoenix. \nSister has served as a physician in a number of different venues including Geriatrics\, Emergency Medicine and as the medical director for a Long-Term Care facility and hospice services in rural Minnesota. \n  \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Video preparation by: Ben Siemens

SUMMARY:Healing the Psychologic Trauma of Today’s Elite College Students
DESCRIPTION:Why is anxiety and depression increasing among college students-especially among those at higher-ranked institutions? What is making young people with the greatest talents and best opportunities so anxious? Fr. Eric Nielsen will attempt to address these questions based on his 15 years of experience ministering to the University of Wisconsin-Madison college students. \nMass 9:00 am followed by a presentation by Fr. Eric Nielsen\, St. Paul’s Student Center\, Madison: Healing the Psychologic Trauma of Today’s Elite College Students \n\nOur first 2022 Milwaukee Guild event\, on April 30\, was well attended\, with approximately 180 attendees. \nFr. Eric shared his pastoral experience working with college students at the University of Wisconsin\, Madison as pastor at St. Paul Catholic Student Center (https://uwcatholic.org) \nHis discussion centered on the marked increase of anxiety and depression amongst these gifted students\, who have every reason to expect a bright future. He emphasized the importance of human relationships as the path to happiness and fulfillment. He also discussed the differences in causes of anxiety and depression between female and male students. Attendees noted many takeaway messages in his experiences and observations including the importance of a prayer life as well as a plan of life. There were many inspiring anecdotes that demonstrate the positive impact on students who become involved at the beautiful new St. Paul’s Center. Dr. DasGupta who moderated the session encouraged everyone to pay a visit to St. Paul Center and attend a Mass to understand the difference it is making. \nHis message was interesting\, well-received\, and enjoyable! \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Healing the Psychological Trauma of Today's Elite College Students\n by Fr.
