Witnessing to Life, Truth and Love in a Fallen World: The Paradox of the Gospel

October 17 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

$5 – $10

The Milwaukee Guild of the Catholic Medical Association invites you to the annual WHITE Mass.

FR. PAUL CHECK, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR of THE SHRINE of OUR LADY of GUADALUPE

“For when I am weak, then I am strong”: The Freedom of Limits

What does St. Paul’s bold and startling claim have to do with the Christian Life in general and the medical profession in particular? Why does St. Paul say “We preach Christ crucified” with the confidence that he will win souls for God’s Kingdom with such a message?

What is “failure” in health care and in life overall? As patients or health care workers, can’t we expect advancements in technology and medicine to finally and entirely alleviate suffering? On the other hand, why are injury, illness and the infirmity of old age occasions for grace, peace and even joy? Fr. Paul Check will explore one of the great paradoxes of the Gospel, how weakness can be a blessing, since it was the very path chosen by the God-man.
